Yearly layoffs happening today. It started in Europe, let’s see how it goes in the US.
Not-so-competent management letting go of people they don’t like to hide their own incompetence.

What time did everyone receive their meeting invite?
Confirming in CCO. A meeting with 2 VPs, skipping my manager. Same trend for at least 1/2 our team...
1:1 with SVP. Definitely means all layers of management between will be gone. Not sure if a person at that level would personally deliver lay-off (seems odd) or its a set up for a meeting with HR.

As these things go, all roles and all locations are in play. Some business got guidance around the number of positions to eliminate, others did not.
Nobody internally outside of the most senior levels know with certainty how man employees will be impacted.
There was a long thread on Bangalore that got deleted.
It got deleted because people are using employee names in the thread and layoffs.com do not allow that.
the title was" Layoffs in Bangalore GSS - what are real reasons?" or something like that
dont use names, do not swear, no racism and they will not delete messages

Also, why do we have layoffs every year?
Frankly, this is causing all kinds of damage to the company.
Field sales roles for now as far as I’ve heard.
What business units or orgs were affected in the EU?
I guess as the day goes on, I wonder the same for those in the US. I expect it should be sort of spread around a bunch of BUs, but some info could be helpful or telling.
