Workforce reductions as a form of class warfare

Private companies all have certain obligations to their their shareholders. We get this.

If the fastest way to meet some of those obligations is through workforce reductions, then why maintain (or even expand) the bloated corps of managers? It goes from assistant manager, manager, senior manager, director, superintendent, AVP, VP, and onward seemingly forever.

Multiple overlapping layers of management that are pointlessly redundant can/should be reduced, consolidated, and streamlined in a manner similar to other large (and better run) corporations.

Right. Bezos is out loading trucks right now. Gates is in Best Buy selling laptops and Buffet is changing out brake shoes as we speak.

This looks like a group of slow blinking trolls trying to form complete thoughts and put them down in text form... failing miserably as well. Stay off the internet because you're making the company look even more justified in their workforce reductions. Humanity would be better off if we could reduce our numbers by getting rid of guys like you all.

No that's not it at all! This has absolutely nothing to do with education. That's pretty stupid to assume that. Are you aware of how many non-management employees actually have degrees? I have 2 bachelor's degrees and I'm working towards my master's now. I work in the shop as a machinist. Could I be a manager, sure. Would I want to be a manager, not here though. I'm happy just being a machinist. I love what I do. Please dont assume your fellow brothers and sisters are uneducated and need to be managed at so many many levels.
