Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Any guesses as to when the next round of closures (possibly final round) will occur?

Well folks, we only have about a week left of January and besides a few Kmart and Sears stores closing here and there, there hasn't really been anything too major happening this month. Does anyone have any guesses as to when the next and possibly final round of closures would be announced? I was sure there would be something this month, but who knows, it might happen in February sometime. After all, when the round of closings was announced in November, those stores would be closing by February, so I guess we might just have to be more patient and wait a few more weeks/months still, but I feel like the end is in sight.....

@1zzd+13aIr2im Thank you. Literally this, you read my mind. Couldn't have posted it better, myself. People somehow enjoy posting that silliness, yet it doesn't give us any information. Great post.

Yeah, there’s more accurate closing info from news outlets and real estate transactions than coming here. Here it’s “Monday”, “Wednesday #closing”, “HE called management in secret conference call Tuesday and Friday is it”, “guy in sport coat toured back room, says fixtures must be moved so we must be liquidating”. The day comes, nothing happens, Kmart cheerleader guy posts how Guam sold 1500 cases of spam over the weekend and things are looking up every single week. Accurate info is one thing but this stuff is pointless and detracts from any actual info. I don’t think it’s any great secret more stores will close so clogging up everything with post after post is pointless.

@1gjd+13aIr2im Because it gets old after a while. By all means, if you have a closing, let's have it. But to keep asking when it's coming, is a little boring. I'd rather see a quiet page for a while, then the same things repeated 10-fold.

@1jya+13aIr2im What's the big deal if the same question is asked on here? Some discussion is better than no discussion I feel like, even if there are no developments in terms of store closings. If you don't like it, no one is making you comment here but yourself.

Wow! Lots of earth shattering commentary in here. How long is the same question going to be asked over and over and over and ... ?

I do not expect any large batches until after the last large batch permanently close 2/16.

@13aIr2im-pxu- sure seems like it...

What difference does it make? It’s not like anyone is going to be surprised when the announcements are made

So are we going to post this same question every day now?

In. Case you havent heard all of the bad stores are already closed. Good stores are beginning to open up right before your eyes. You just need to look in the right places.

@ofw that is true, I'm guessing OP is wondering if there will be another round of mass closures like the ones that were announced back in September and November. I have no clue, but that being said, I do agree with him/her that Sears and Kmart probably won't be around too much longer.
