there is a pandemic going on and they wont even supply cashiers with face masks. if you're working up front, you're at great risk. i doubt they will even offer paid leave if this gets worse

We were told by store management not to wear facemasks at work so we wouldn't concern people that we might be sick.
So go to the dollar store and buy one. Do you know how stupid you sound?
So body suits for all cashiers... lol get out of here. If it gets to that point we are fully capable of going to pickups and deliveries only.
You could get this from anyone,anywhere....don't panic and use good hygiene... maybe the stores could use a disinfectant in the vent system overnights or walk thru with spray every so often but unless you lock yourself away theres a possibility...dont panic
Wait till all the cashiers are sick, and there’s no one to work. Imagine the hysteria then. They could be taking more preventive measures. Just wait, give it 2 weeks, you’ll see that I am right.

Then don’t go in if you’re not comfortable....there’s sanitizer at each register... just don’t touch your face. And imagine the repercussions if grocery stores shut down... talk about mass hysteria. Get out of here with that c-ap
I think the fact that Hy-Vee tossed more than 1,000 people off insurance benefits at the start of a global pandemic is pretty good evidence that no, they don't care about your health.
cashier is a guarantee way to get sick. If I was part time I would quit or call in sick.
There are thousands of cases of corona in the U.S. now. Cashiers have contact with hundreds of people a day. I don’t think I needs to tell you how this will play out. The cashiers aren’t even allowed to wear gloves
