Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

Work remotely during a pandemic? Check with your supervisor.

Rumor has it, the executive board has been beating around the bush for years now about a consistent firm-wide work remote policy, which everyone knows will become a necessity in the future in order to recruit good talent.

Turns out not even a nationally declared health emergency can get them to make a decision. Shocker.

Are you shocked. How long have they been saying they were building a campus up north. It's all talk and tax write-offs

Lack of consistency has always been the issue. It's really nice that IT is like that, but other areas are not. Some departments are not even consistent inter-departmentally with their WFH policies - especially before all this happened. "Talk to your supervisor" doesn't work when one supervisor hates letting people WFH and the next one is cool with it - sometimes within the same department!

This isn’t accurate or consistent. In IT, leadership has been encouraging us to WFH if you have the ability to, and been flexible with sick leave if required.
