Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Lawsuit?

We are a travel related company and we know full well about the coronavirus and other companies are asking employees to work from home. Sabre has yet to ask employees to work from home. If anyone gets the coronavirus, would they be able to file a lawsuit against Sabre?

Employees are exposed and hostages to the manager's whim.

Unlikely. Texas is a right to work state which means the employees have the right to quit and the employer has the right to fire them.

If you had a car accident on your way to the office then Sabre would be no more liable for that than they would be if you caught a cold, flu, hpv, or even this by touching the office door handle without washing your hands afterwards. In fact, since Sabre provides hand sanitizer and bathroom sinks equipped with soap, Sabre is probably less liable for virus transmission than for commuter car accidents, because Sabre made some effort to keep employees safe from viruses.
