This is bad.

I’m so sorry you are struggling. I’m sure you didn’t deserve to lose your job due to their greedy, unethical, and clueless decision making. Perhaps you should still talk to an attorney. I’ve heard severance agreements don’t always hold up, especially if you had to sign under duress.

My daughter has autism and I really needed the health insurance. I am really struggling right now, still unemployed

Yes it does sound illegal. They think they can do whatever they want as long as they give people 3 months of pay. Really dirty. No respect or ethics.

Are there more layoffs happening in 2020 (so management can buy more companies and keep taking advantage of employees)? I heard a few concerns - just curious if anyone else heard anything - especially after the pathetic Q2 results.

Just as long as this doesn’t mess with my shares.

They took advantage of corona virus to lay off people. I had to train cheaper people to only be laid off later with a young baby.

Definitely more people have been letgo after April. Just check internal HR system for number of departures. Someone mentioned in one of the weekly check-ins that the CEO still collected a six-figure bonus. In fact, how do we know senior management or even our co-workers for that matter, actually took a paycut? This is an excellent opportunity for leads to reward (or not punish) their favorites.

Did more people get laid off after the mass lay off in April?

Management in commercial operations and sales is incompetent. Jim Stuart and Catherine Stueland are incompetent and should be fired. It is the most unprofessional work environment and worst sales leadership I have experienced. Jim has no motivational skills or real leadership charisma and surrounds himself with his frat bro buddies and self promoters who just s— up to him, and Catherine is simply not qualified for her job. She has no sales experience, no medical background and no leadership experience. She was a PR person. It's the keystone cops over there and really good people lost their jobs because of poor sales leadership and bad management decisions.

I was overworked, it seems that it happened in a lot of teams. I have lost count how many times I have worked off the clock to meet the metrics and finish my work only to get laid off later.

I had not heard that. I sure hope that is not the case.

It seems that when the lay off happened they targeted mostly protected groups or people who have used FMLA.

I’m so sorry you lost you job. So wrong to give so much just to be slapped in the face and given little to no dignity. Please take pride and hold your head high knowing your selfless and well intentioned efforts, either directly or indirectly, made a difference in patients’ lives. Some members of Invitae’s senior management (NOT Sean, Shelly, Tom, Eric) can’t come close to saying that with a clear conscious. peace!

They are letting employees go who have been there for a long time and contributed so much to the company. There was no negotiation or anything and we were not given a reason. The people they laid off made no sense. They did a massive hiring that was not necessary and now we are paying the price.

I have not seen anything from the media yet.

I agree about not speaking up. From what I have heard, many people don’t want to speak up about commercial operations decisions since they fear the repercussions. Sad but true.

It’s been bloated in a lot of areas. Product particularly but yes hiring hundreds of sales reps with so many other systemic issues was not smart and a lot of people were vocal about that. Nothing has been announced to the media as of yet.. I guess?

More layoffs? I didn’t hear that. If only they hadn’t hired all those sales reps maybe others could have kept their jobs. That was an amateurish business decision even before the pandemic hit. Someone needs to pay the price for that insane move, and with their job.

When a company gives everything away for free and operates in the red qtr over qtr since they opened their doors, it’s hard to survive through times like these. Unfortunate for those who bought into their false vision.

It was mostly in-house employees right? I don't think my rep friends were affected. I'm going to reach out to them and see if they are ok.

As of today, 120 people have been laid off and there is a 10% cut in pay. Layoffs are to continue in the coming weeks. It's bad.
