Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Obviously corporate has commented on here...

Corporate, stop. People can say what they want. Did you think no one would be mad about this? Would you like to be let go with no health insurance and 2 weeks severance? What makes you think this was okay? You know this isnt going to blow over. So, how about you stop blowing your companys money on expensive advertisements and spokedpersons? Dont you think thats a good idea? Things will get worse. Fix it. I think your corporate needs to get some downsizing. I dont think anyone is going to "stop the hate". Betrayal can have some lasting effects on those...especially with the how many you threw to the curb, paycut and demoted. Its never too late to make things right. Your employees, both newer and long standing deserve so much for what they have done for you.

You're right. The more corporate staff try to defend these actions, the more angry responses you'll see here. Staff: Nobody cares how happy you are with your corporate position or how loyal you are to current leadership. People's lives have been turned upside down, they have no income coming in, they are facing a pandemic with no health insurance, for God's sake. Can you stifle your own defensiveness and/or survivor's guilt for a second and spare us the condescending lectures about how we should be nice and grateful and support the people who caused this fiasco? Honestly, if you are as tone-deaf to the feelings of customers as you are to the feelings of veteran employees who have been fired, demoted and financially screwed over, it's completely unsurprising that the company is a cluster right now.

These "layoffs", also known as terminations have left a very foul taste in the mouths of the victims as well as left remaining employees anxious, on edge. The public is not stupid. It can observe how HyVee spends its $$$. Mark Whalberg and Pat Mahomes are more important to the Hy-Vee board than the employees. The public can empathize with the people they see week in and out, who serve them. It can declare what they think of this with where they spend their food dollars. The actions of Hy-Vee and HOW they went about it is going to have some quantifiable consequences.
