Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Throw in the towel

The best thing for Hyvee right now is for Randy to step down. Get a CEO that knows what they are doing. If you want to save your business Hyvee...let Randy go.

I worked at Hy-Vee for a little while and saw when RE took over. He got rid of all the corporate officers who were actually very important in making the company what it was. Slowly, 1 by 1 they "retired". Filled all the positions with failed store directors or people who barely had any experience in the stores. Then came the iron fist. I will never forget our store being not very good sales/profit wise. We made a lot of changes with a new store director and things really took off. One day, RE showed up and completely ripped the place apart - you could see the motivation and sense of urgency immediately leave each and every employees body. No talking with employees, no constructive criticism, no ways to continue the momentum. Just pulled the director in the backroom and destroyed him. We would then have frequent visits from different people in suits who made us change things they had no clue about, the store eventually returned to "normal" - a store that no one shopped at. That's when I got out.

Praying that will happen. Too good a company to be ruined by one man's poor business decisions.
