So Senators are pushing employers to pay for an employees sick leave if they become infected with the Corona Virus. Since ADS already stated you will have to take leave without pay if you don't have PTO, lets see if ADS steps up to the plate on this one. They can afford it!

Its federal law. You can take 14 days off and they cannot count it against your pto time

Maybe we all should notice this is a LAYOff site....keyword being lay-off.... This is not a site to complain about our benefits package or the current memos that we got...this is a site to discuss the potential Possibilities of being laid off from our jobs, This site went left along time ago... this is not a I hate my job complaint forum, this is not a I don’t like anything they’re doing this is strictly to discuss anything that we’ve rumored or heard rumored about being laid off obviously our company is in a bad state and you can argue all day long why you think that is or what bad decisions were made or what upper management did you could argue that all day long but the bottom line is all those things were done we are in a very stressful hardship financial period of time within the company we can’t expect miracles to happen overnight that it out of our you know 7,000 or 10,000 employees they could possibly become sick with this virus it’s some sort of magic wand will be waived the money will just appear out of nowhere ——check OUR stock prices lately and it’s just not a ADS-this is happening worldwide mANY companies are experiencing the same situation trying to figure out how to stay in business how to play their employees just a weekly pay let alone adding in all this other stuff Yep the virus s—s but our companies are not miracle workers we could only do what we can do the work at home idea I think it’s great but I will have to admitmet I once was a supervisor for many years in the call center and we literally used to have conversations about oh it’s January and no one will be here because their PTO just kicked in ——-guys you got to be responsible with your time and I’m not saying the original poster has not been responsible with their time and I understand where you’re trying to get so I’m not trying to start an argument I’m just saying that there’s a lot of people that use their PTO for dumb reasons we used to have five sick days a year but what happened to the five sick days is they wrote them into the PTO time so technically we still have those five days there just rolled up into our PTO time and just called pay time off we have a no-fault attendance policy we don’t really care why her off That’s up to you. You just Gotta manage your time to the best of your ability so when something bad happens like a virus or the flu or your kid gets pneumonia but you still have time left to use I mean I know a person that works at another company who has worked there for you almost 25 years and they literally get 15 days off a year that’s it we are very fortunate at Alliance Data that we get as much time as we get that mean you will find it very hard To find another company that start you out day one in most cases depending upon what time of the year you started but start you out with 153 hours 152 hours of paid time off right out the gate like that’s three weeks of vacation as soon as you start working with us in most cases again depending upon what month of the year you start we’re fortunate what do you wanna think that we’re not what do you want to complain all day that in the last few months things have gone really wrong were a lot more fortunate even with all of those bad things happening then we would be working Another company I mean think about the poor people that work at a grocery store for god sake’s they got everyone up in their faces from all over the world but they’re still there many are working overtime they have kids to take care of to perhaps what some Ads people need to do is find some damn gratitude instead of complaining about every single little thing that is happening. Always remember there’s always someone out there who would love to have our job just keep that in mind

Sounds like you’re not too good at collecting if you can’t keep up to your peers and the only way to rank is to you pto so your scheduled hours are decreased. Just saying may want to look at a new profession. You would never be able to make it in recovery.
First of all, I’m not reading all of that. Second, in the ADS collections world, if you don’t use PTO, you have to collect damn near double what the next person is collecting. This has nothing to do with a call off. This is based solely on their rankings systems metrics & how they determine who is where on the rankings. Maybe you need to take a walk to blow off some steam if I upset you THAT much. Haha
All the care center employees do is complain complain complain. AND I’M A PHONE ASSOCIATE TOO!!! If you were better at your job you would haven’t have to worry about ranking. This is a JOB. Not a volunteer opp or charity. You’re paid to do a JOB. Take some accountability. It’s not the managers or supervisors fault. It’s not the system. It’s not your peers. It’s YOUR responsibility. If the system was truly broken how you all cry, then no one would be able to hit metrics or successfully do their job. Yes it’s a dog eat dog world but once again, it’s a JOB that you are being paid for to do. And just like most jobs out in the world, it’s a competitive job meaning you have to beat the next man. Stop whining and complaining and giving the woe is me attitude. No one controls your life or destiny except YOU. Stop being your own worst enemy. Grow up and be adults. People would actually have remaining PTO if there was a better rankings system! The fact that I have to use large amounts of PTO each month, for no reason other than just to rank is b—s—! If I didn’t use PTO, then I wouldn’t still have a job.
ADS has a generous PTO bank that you can use for sick days if needed. It’s March, are you seriously telling me that you blew through that bank of hours in January? Are you aware that you have STD? Maybe be a little more cognizant of saving some PTO and not use as much VTO and you will be fine
The memo that was sent out CLEARLY stated that employees will only get paid if they use their PTO, if they were to become infected with the virus. Therefore, that person IS NOT LYING.

No one has to "state " anything. The best prediction of the future is taking a look at their past behavior. They don't care. STD is 70% Einstein. So, no one here is LYING, just stating facts. And, btw, I haven't received ANY notification of anything from ads, other than ralphis non comforting msg followed by another one that said he won't be on the plane. So perhaps, layoff board creeper/stalker you should shut the blank up.
This is 100% false. ADS has not stated anything of the sort. Quit lying, it's not helpful. If anyone is diagnosed to have Coronavirus, they will be eligible for (paid) STD.

Can you imagine what the medical costs will be for us? No one will be picking up that tab, and, truly, we have really sh–ty insurance. Then not getting paid for missing work. Just imagine the occurrences they will imply. Imagine all of the paperwork that we will have to get to ads. No, they won't pay, but you will. It would require too much work for them, the off shore people would have to do it. Wow, that's comforting. And ralphies message wasnt very comforting or caring. But he sure the hell ain't gettin on a plane.
