Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Do something.

Has anyone considered a public display on the public sidewalks in front of Hy-Vee stores?
Let the public know what Hy-Vee has turned into. Ethics and Values should matter!
An Employee owned company—owned by 700 stock holders.—-Half of which are millionaires.

  • 80,000 total employees by the way....before 2000+ long term employees being fired.

I'm stressed, but I'm glad they're reminding me that no matter what corporation you go to, they always show the same true colors eventually. Unless it's government or union mandated, a corporation WILL NOT do right by their employees.

Being reminded of this has me talking to friends and people in my network who have already set me up with multiple interviews for positions with better benefits and more long-term security. These people know the type of person I am and the quality of work I perform, which I'm not sure Hy-Vee does. I'm grateful my wake-up call wasn't being fired or demoted like so many. I have time to make my move without going bankrupt.

Hey Buddy
I understand it is tough, I don’t work for Hy-Vee, I left long ago.
But for the people that have lost their jobs, this can allow them to fight and be heard.

Sure, you first buddy! Have you ever talked to these guys face to face about something they didn’t want to hear about? This company will have a slow death spiral because of the iron fist way of management. Look, we’re all trying to get out, the smart ones anyway.
