To the office brat who says "store employees are expandable- prove me wrong"........I think current events makes your word choice seem very out of touch.
Wow, is that a corporate employee bragging that he/she is not fired? Wow. Do they know anyone can google Hyvee and this layoff page is right at the top? This is a public page. I dont even work for Hyvee. Way to lose customers.
At the company wide produce meeting 2 weeks ago Randy made us watch this stupid music video about burning the ships like 12 times... I swear.... he even recited the lines every time.... then come inventory Monday I get stepped down from produce manager, by the same director that was sitting next to me in that meeting making fun of randy for playing the video so many times and joking with me... if that isn’t a punch in the gut, then I don’t know what is...
I was offered an Office job at one point in the last 20+ years. I decided against working with entitled brats with no real OTJ experience.
Don’t be upset with me that Randy treat the store employees as the step children. He is taking care of his real children in the cooperate office. Action speak louder than words. You know it’s true.
To the asshat corporate employee... what good are you when there are no customers at the stores. It’s not a secret that front line staff goes first. Your days are numbered from your 8-5 office job.
Store employees are expendable. Prove me wrong! The top company officers agree. That why you guys are getting fired not us.
Right now, it feels like the "ships" are veteran employees.
There are "Burn the ships" posters around the corporate office. I'm not sure where else they are posted...
Hmmm. Must have missed that letter somehow. Given that context, I'm oniy SLIGHTLY less p-ss-d off. Thank you for the explanation.
Yes, Randy did say this in his letter to all employees last month, mid February or so....it was on the 2nd page, and the paragraph titled Helpful Smile 2020.
What he was referring to by, saying "Burn The Ships” comes from a historic conquest when, in 1519, Spanish Conquistador Hernando Cortez landed in Mexico on the shores of the Yucatan, with only one objective… seize the great treasures known to be hoarded by the Aztecs.
Now days, it just a chatter phrase that business execs like Randy use to sound great, when in fact they have the business expertise of a gerbil.
