How can Cummins management preach about all the great things they for women and how they live by the motto of, "When much is given, much is expected"? Look at what they just did to thousands of men and women and their lives.. Look at what that same management team member has supported multiple times every three years or so. How can they act like the lives of thousands are nothing to worry about, as long as they can pretend to support women during World Women's Day? I was constantly ranked a one and promoted regularly, yet they treated me like a criminal when I was fired. They have no caring about women.. And no caring about humans in general..

Tip: No matter what gender you are, how great your reviews are, how well you are liked, if you want to move up the food chain, you have to move to Columbus, IN. If you refuse, you will be let go eventually. I have seen many that could have done their job easily from their current location or a different location than Columbus, but because they wouldn't or couldn't move, they were let go during one of mass firings over the decades. Of course, you like to perform well and get promoted, but if that promotion requires a move and you don't want to move, your days are numbered.
The only women that were worth anything have been let go. They claim to support women, but the ones that were truly management material did not drink the Cummins Kool Aid, nor were they midwest lackies, thus kicked to the curb despite all of their contributions and respect from direct reports. I don't currently know of any women in leadership that truly deserves to be there. I had a great female boss that did a lot for Cummins purchasing, was very loyal and had great experience. A very strategic thinker as well that had worked in automotive. She was also well respected by colleagues around the world. After she was let go, I lost faith in being a good performer at Cummins.
"I was constantly ranked a one and promoted regularly, yet they treated me like a criminal when I was fired. They have no caring about women.. ". Yes, same thing happened to me in 2015.
This place has been utterly toxic since day 1. Have worked many places, and the anxiety I feel around the office is off the charts.
And that is why it's so hard for Cummins to keep good talent. Along with location, pay not being competitive and also sh–ty management culture. But something tells me that it's going to be alot worse this time. With the markets getting worse (especially after the OPEC thing saturday) it's going to hit the bottom line even harder. And once it does as many have said we will have more RIF's and this time it might be impossible to save those cousins or friends or family members from the guillotine. And get ready for the hourly to feel the pain when they possibly start to one make them take put days and two possibly say that they will have hourly layoffs for each dept..
Cummins plays the game well. They care about diversity and inclusion only to the extent that it benefits the bottom line. They spend millions to make sure they check every box, cross every "T", and win "best company" awards. It's all an absolute sham.
At the end of the day, they will fire you on any whim....at any moment. Whether to achieve some diversity ranking number, some Wall Street $ number or whatever fits their need at the time.
Bottom line is...if you work for Cummins....NEVER trust them. Always have your resume ready to go. Play the game for as long as you like but, never get comfortable.
Cummins has been a sh–ty company to work for, for decades. They hire and fire, always have, always will.
I guess it's not about the ranking but who they think they should get rid of aka the biggest salary.
