Boeing loses 18% of Air Canada’s 737 Max order amid grounding:
https://www.thestar.com/business/2020/03/11/boeing-loses-18-per-cent-of-air-canadas-737-max-order-amid-grounding.html

Air Canada chopped an order for the aircraft by 11 jets.

Air Canada’s shrinking appetite underscores the rising risk of cancellations
for the Max, which could worsen as the coronavirus outbreak saps demand
for new jets.
Customers have leverage to sc-ap orders or strike new deals for aircraft when
Shipment’s has been delayed by a year or more.

Ethiopian crash probes absolve pilots, blame Boeing

The probe by the US House's panel also focused on the first Max crash
on October 2018, involving a Lion Air flight 610 from Jakarta in Indonesia.
It crashed into the Java Sea 13 minutes after takeoff,
Murdering all 189 passengers and crew.

The second one — the Ethiopian airline flight ET302 crash —happened on
March 10, last year, crashing only six minutes after takeoff from
Addis Ababa's Bole International Airport for JKIA, Nairobi.
In that incident Boeing Murdered 157 people.

The report of the Ethiopian government investigation had been kept secret
but was reported by global news agencies Bloomberg News and
Reuters on Saturday.

The two reports show the plane crashed due to a faulty programming system
whose functioning the pilot was unable to control due to poor design.

The US report, in particular, found that although the aircraft was compliant
with Federal aviation authority regulations, its systems were
"fundamentally flawed and unsafe."

The FAA on Friday proposed fining Boeing $19.7 million for allegedly installing
equipment on hundreds of 737 aircraft containing sensors that were
not approved for that equipment.

The FAA alleges that between June 2015 and April 2019,
Boeing installed Rockwell Collins Head’s-up Systems on 791 jetliners,
including 618 Boeing 737 NGs and 173 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

The FAA said these aircraft were equipped with sensors that had
Not Been Tested or Approved as being compatible with those systems.
Boeing, which did not immediately comment, Boeing has 30 days to respond.
