Thread regarding Alaska Airlines layoffs

Anybody else worried about where this company is going?

Let me make this clear from the get-go, I love working at Alaska Airlines. This place has good pay, excellent benefits, and the people I work with are amazing.

But lately, I’ve noticed that when it comes to leadership positions, they keep choosing the wrong people. Very little experience, very little knowhow, poor people skills… Meanwhile, those people who would be an asset for the company in those positions are being passed over.

I’m not sure why this is happening, but it’s bound to hurt Alaska Airlines in the long run. Which is why I’m worried about how this place will look five or more years from now. We really need to see this trend change or the occasional layoffs might be the least of our worries.

Yeah, Look at the VP of Labor for example. She has no airline experience. How can that help in a time like this???
