Are we done for now?

Will there be more layoffs any time soon?

These moves are Randy making the company pay for his poor leadership. The death spiral has begun get off the ship before it burns underneath you.

Hyvee will be bought out in less than 5 years. There is no way this company survives at this rate for 10 more years. Here is why – When gas prices plummet (matter of time with now being an energy independent nation), the prices of competitors which are currently WAY lower than Hyvee's prices will go even lower. People will catch on and stop shopping Hyvee. A mass exodus of customers. They will sell the company when they see that it is going down in flames. The new owner (larger supermarket chain) will come in and change everything from top to bottom (but keep the Hyvee name). All of the upper management who laid off people the previous 5 years will also be out of a job. What goes around comes around.

Really/?? I don't feel lucky.
If half of grocery retail will be here in 10 years , why the hell is your boy Randy, building more stores.
Evidently he made a mistake by not cutting your ignorant, non sympathetic, arrogant, butt to the curb.
Your attitude clearly shows what is wrong with this company.
And don't worry next round Randy might be coming for you.

Is Randy and the rest of the "Big Dogs" taking the same paycuts that they are asking of their employees?

That sounds like something Randy would say.

We are lucky to have this leadership in place during hard times. Retail stores are over saturated right now with everyone doing online shopping. The landscape is changing rapidly and only the strong will survive. In the next 10 years they say half of all grocery store chains will be gone. Randy is willIng to make the hard choices to see HyVee survive another day. Randy keep leading this coming strong for another 10 years!

Well, you have to ask yourself "with the moves they have just made, Will sales increase or decrease?"
I don't see how anyone in their right mind would think these changes are good for any store in the company. You would assume that when sales decline even more they will fire/cut more employees. This is a death spiral with no end in site. That is why this company needs new leadership. All confidence is lost.
