Thread regarding Alliance Data Systems Corp. layoffs

Positive

Can anyone on this page be positive and optimistic or are all of bitter because you didn't make the cut in OCT and DEC?

Wow! You are so lucky! My supervisor is a fill in the blank. No one on our team can stand her. She's condescending and stuck up. Hope she is next to go. She's supposed to be a LEADER, WITH LEADERSHIP SKILLS. She is clearly lacking in many areas. No way is she LEADERSHIP MATERIAL.

"Just curious how great that "raise" was....is it proportionate to how much abuse you take from customers and leadership?"

It was slightly higher than the raise I got last year and the same as the one I got in 2018. The level of "abuse" from the collections customers hasn't really changed in the 10+ years I have been here and I haven't had any "abuse" from leadership so I would say the raise was at least proportionate.

"How did you get a merit raise already? Isn't that done the first week of April?"

Merit reviews have typically been given out in early March and the raise effective towards the end of March for as long as I can remember. The raise kicks in for hours worked starting March 22 and will be on the first paycheck at the beginning of April. I just assumed everyone is getting their merit reviews presented to them this week but maybe my supervisor is just quicker with them than some.

Honestly I was happy to see them done on time and at the same level as previous years because I was afraid they would be eliminated this year due to the recent performance problems with the company.

Well that's wonderful for you! Congratulations! But it's just temporary, they'll rip that scab off soon, and then there ya go again... it's just something to keep you quiet for awhile. If you seriously think that you have a "career " here, then you need to take advantage of EAP, while we still have it. Just curious how great that "raise" was....is it proportionate to how much abuse you take from customers and leadership? I doubt it. I have been there too long. The place will eat your brains and soul. Think about it.

Receiving my annual merit raise today put me in a much more positive mood. I have been here long enough to see some rough times and some really great times and I'm sure we will make it through this rough stretch just like we did before. We are a leaner company now and ready to move forward to better things.
