Down to 40 remaining Kmarts as of June, 2020, that haven't announced store closings.
44 isn't a bad size chain, not huge, but still a fair size.
44 if you subtract Minneapolis, but factor in the Kmart within the Sears in Brooklyn.
43 if you count Minneapolis as liquidating.
There are a total of 44 Kmarts not in liquidation in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Guam.
