Thread regarding Resideo Technologies layoffs

How do we fix this

There have been no major new products since 2016, only some incremental also-rans and a few glaring flops. Magical mobile apps aren't going to fix that since nobody pays for them anyway. Grand paper architectures from Wikipedia architects aren't going to do it either since again, customers don't buy architectures they buy products. New security and comfort products that are at best fourth or fifth place in the market might keep people busy but aren't going to keep this place alive much longer. Thanks to our beloved former CTO and his be-moobed wannabe successor engineering now consists of a cadre of leaders who are only interested in cashing in and have no ability to lead or innovate. Nothing is going to get better until someone rips the band aid off and purges the ex-CTO and ex-moobs layer of promotees and hires.

@cxit,
They never help others and like to mess with people... almost as bad as Austin.

Wish they had lay-off those “fellows” they are incompetent arrogant fools that can only backstab others and show they have outdated knowledge.
Thankfully we got rid of 2 incompetent fools before and after the spin....

No fixing. It’s now only about how you can build your resume for the next job, using rezi presence in azure, maybe even try a port to AWS like moobs wanted, try to build some mobile apps in connected and all the gigantic unneeded platforms. And to add spice to the free for all, the Bangalore mafia of incompetents...
We all know who the people are...
They are driving us towards more lay-off that they avoid over and over

Why would they leave when there is a runaway gravy train?
They are not going to be lay-off, we are...

Some directors and Sr directors (not the ones that were demoted) are trying to argue that they are also worth multi month packages like the water lady and moobs... how about giving them stock and bonuses? Maybe a few millions $?
The arrogance of those people is unbelievable.... all while we have layoffs and tons of employees lives are being disrupted.

You see all the other sections of Honeywell doing acquisitions and most 90% are really adding to the overall company. So good M&A..
But you look at Honeywell homes already at the time it was still part of Honeywell... most are failures. We split and become Rezi. The bad acquisitions trends continue. Still mostly duds.
How can it be that that specific section Honeywell threw out that became Rezi has a totally opposite success rate -constantly ????

@3wdh - If that's true it's a great start!! Hopefully they will remove more fat before they are done. No question there is plenty of it to cut.

I have it on good authority that the CMO - oops I mean the Chief Transformation Officer along with his jersey boytoy and the Russian agent are on their way out...the CTO position is temporary until his contract runs out so he can save face while the business avoids giving him the golden parachute $.
The two other bananas plus the c—ney spendthrift in the UK will all raise their hands and take the separation package. A great move if true.

Don’t think anyone wants to truly monetize anything. Corp at a certain layer is filled with people telling BS and the VP GM are none the wiser.
First thing the weird CTO did was to push our, harass key employees...(until they left$ and his directs went at it with gusto, hoping for promotions which they got ... then moobs came and took all what that ces said for gospel and added his own flavor, bringing in and promoting also a group of incompetents.... for anything to succeed you need someone not part of the current club... simple as that.

@1dwj,
Biggest jerk I have ever had the displeasure to meet ... even by east coast standards .
New new title is chiefs transformation officer.. CTO so take a hint at how the farce never stops in some circles

The more you mess up and then blame others the better the promo... way to go rezi. Krafty and others like him in products / marketing do it because they are not held accountable by anyone, so who are the clowns ?Us or them?
They are certainly not because they just keep the BS train going with mucho $$$

@1quj, sounds like the pro perks program. Millions $$ spent on it during last 1.5 years. 10 heads hired to run it and now they are not launching it at all.

Krafty has only launched products plagued with problems and that too back in his comfort days. What has he launched in his new role in connected homes?
Nothing but his successful ‘s—ing up to moobs’ venture, which I must say has been quite successful.
For everything else he blamed R*vel, hdg, kappa-gaga, sourcing team etc.
Now this clown is going to be the CTO? Bless us all!

Why worry? Find a initiative that costs millions, do a lot of work by adding tons of stuff and keep pushing any dates . If people get impatient, thrown that manager under the bus and start all over again. That’s the tactic that has worked for the past year and will work again. And by all means blow as much smoke as possible!
And avoid krafty like the plague ... he tends to latch on to anything he can to remain relevant....it’s interesting how corruption has gotten so far into the culture of rezi

@gzb,
Let’s not be jealous.... thanks to the insights of GV marketing the design of Titan has shown much promise in delivering the best azure architecture that is both cutting edge and reliable.
It was validated by our most senior director in Melville.

@1kcl,
How do you know that BCG wasn’t objective at all?
What specific info directly ties up to them?
Laying off people... well that was the plan long agi even before they came..

Nepotism is rampant in this company. Among the new “leaders” that have brought their friends along got the ride. And also the legacy Honeywell people that protect their friends at all cost. A lot of favoritism going on. The BCG exercise was not objective at all.

Why isn't the fun-size architect getting his hands dirty and shepherding a first connected product on Titan?

Anyone has any ideas when that contraception Titan will actually deliver something useful? Looks like those architects have invented a new aircraft carrier ???
We can’t lay-off the architects because they know all the buzzwords, so what can we do? We can’t make anyone do something in Austin ... who can we make responsible? Krafty?

Ha! That CMO keeps inventing stuff up.... after giving us the rockstar CTO who was so confused he must have been on some illegal stuff, then helping bring a bunch of gamers also on some white illegal stuff, now he is blowing up more smoke up our collective a$$es.
Must be great to make millions per year and still have a job...

@uus,
You mean : Lack of strategic approach for comfort?
That’s know for the past 2 years... just smoke blown out of their $&@ GM and his direct reports are collectively responsible. They are there to support the VP-GM
As for Saas... that’s the mirror part of the smoke

I would place the blame squarely on the CMO and the GM on the connected home business. Except for all the social media posts and appearances on panels in the past 3 years, we have done nothing to be taken seriously as a provider in the connected home space. We need to put people in place that will listen to the market to find out what they want, rather than telling them what they need.

Fixing would imply something is wrong. Not seeing anything wrong in what is being done today besides the generic fire hon employees.

Yes I remember that plan when the former CTO working with the CMO came up with that stuff... glad to see we are still pursuing this more than a year after....

ADI is the only part of this company that is actually doing well. Products & Solutions would not survive as standalone company. Honeywell did a 6 month assessment before deciding to dump the residential business. They knew exactly what they were doing and that these businesses were on the decline.

You VE the c-ap out of your existing products to increase their profit margin; release Storm under a pre-purchase agreement with a major customer; outsource manufacturing to drastically reduce people costs; and sell ADI in 2021 to rebuild your capital.
