Denham Springs let the marine manager go..... so they could give the job to the laid off agm.
FIRED a young guy to keep an old guy.
"Good old boys" in charge
They took our Hunting/fishing manager, and our frontend/receiving manager. They gave our AGM a new title and now he is over frontend and receiving. Now we have soft lines and hard lines managers and 2 senior leads.
didn't Cabelas fail because it became a credit card company that sold outdoor goods, bass pro has followed Cabelas path to destruction. All they care about is club.
Ha and they waited to give “bonuses” til after they fired all the AGMs and if what they’re giving is what they call a bonus they should be ashamed. Our store exceeded all expectations of all numbers given from last year ....found out the bonus amount recently and laughed thinking it was a joke....
I expect bonuses to be wiped out after this year too
No matter how hard you work, no matter what you do for the store, no matter how often you get their name out there and how good you make the store look, no matter how much social media you participate in and go out of your way to get them noticed even more
IT’S NEVER ENOUGH!!!!!!
Good. Those GMs and AGMs only care about their big bonuses. They don't do a damn thing for their employees.
At what point do they start looking to cut outside of stores. There is so much wasted payroll in other areas that produce no sales impact. We cut great talent in stores meanwhile keep adding field recruiters, field trainers, diversity managers, multiple HR positions in store, divisional and regional that produce no revenue or value for that matter and only continue to collect a paycheck and cost the company money. We just added a new field HR manager in my area...and at the same time closed two stores and eliminated several store positions for what? Think of how many store roles could have benefitted from that salary.
Then you have corporate positions in Sidney NE is anyone even monitoring that place, training team that is producing nothing of value, IT don’t even get me started, marketing what marketing, wellness are you kidding me, merchandising uh what product, social media “experts” that is my favorite just to name a few. Again someone should dive in and review what these positions have done to help the company get ahead or back in the game. Cutting people in all the wrong places!! Someone needs to wake up and start asking questions before it’s too late!
Cutting in stores, adding at corporate, no sales, closing stores and sole focus on credit is a formula for disaster. The end is near! Just a matter of time.
Best thing anyone can do with this company is avoid management. Remain hourly where it’s essentially impossible to lose your job unless you quit showing up. J Morris sold his soul to Capital One, and the CLUB (credit) business is about the only thing they care about these days.
I said about a month ago they were letting the AGMs go
They will now have a SR GSM in place it will not be an additional Position but a position that a current GSM will also take on along with their already position
Saving money, adding work and responsibility
