Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

We are too good to you

So "rewarding top talent" will now become "no merit raise for you". We have studied it and you make too much compared to what other companies pay for your description. Therefore we have determined that we are too good to you already and not eligible for a merit raise., no matter what review rating you have.

The management at Teradata falls into two categories. Those just trying to hang on to their jobs because of personal circumstances and those that look for every way they can to absolutely screw everyone except their favorites. The management ranks are so full of incompetence and dishonesty, it is a horrible place to work. They have taken a great company and completely destroyed it over the last six years. Shame to watch. The employees should run when they can and the rest of the management staff should be investigated.

Lucky you people. I didn’t have any review and have no clue if I have got anything - merit or bonus. Or maybe this is a sign...

The sad truth is TD doesn’t pay nearly what the competitors are paying. A new job would give me a 20% bump. Sad that it comes to this.

Your salary increase is 5%, but your salary is 80k.
His increase is 2%, but his salary is 200k.
What is the difference? He actually also got 100k options!

Old guard here. 1.75% salary increase. 90% of 70% bonus. Bonus less than half what it was last year. Meh, but considering they didn't "have to" give me anything, and I expected basically nothing, it's better than that.

Achieved expectations, 3.25% salary increase, 100% of70% bonus pool.

Got my performance review and salary letter today. Achieved expectations and got 5% bump in salary. I'm way above what others are getting elsewhere. What's not to love?

Everything else equal some managers are worse than others at this.
I guess it comes as a free added "benefit" when nominating people just to close gaps in the org chart.

Direction this year was to not give merits to anyone at or near their salary cap. Lots of folks newly hired getting good raises...old guard is given 0% with a SLIGHTLY larger (100-125%) of the 70% bonus pool. So if you are one of those folks, the only way to uplevel is to take a new job...sad message to send to the literal anchors of this company.

Our management has conveniently ensured that the discussion happens as late as possible.

Exactly...that is what my boss told me! Oh..and throw in...well you have a huge benefit of working from home...sorry I have worked from home for over 20 years...l don't consider it a benefit to throw in my face anymore. And how about those scores we are graded on? My friend and I do the same job...we went over our scores. I had a higher score than her and she got a raise and a bonus...i got a small bonus...how does that happen?
