Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

Support?

It's so hard watching folks to have to walk out. Saw one guy with a full cart dolley after being with the company for over 15 years.

Has anyone heard anything the Accounting teams? I am just so confused why no one in Accounting has some prep discussion or they are too busy trying to file 10K. Then boom. Your laid off after the 10K gets submitted.

Bean counter here. Nope no word. I feel so awkward even trying to ask the obvious elephant in the room. Last week heard it might be midweek this week or soon there since we are one the last departments that serve everyone. Good to all.

Here in accounting too. To think of it now, just not any movement in the news. Keep hearing that its all speculation unless it comes from Project Ascend but those are just email notifications that there was reductions. So getting that would be a little too late. It would be a bit supportive if at the VP/ local management level or similar lower level there be some informal conversation be given. It does not need to be official but just perhaps a type of support platform so people might have general idea of whats happening or how it might happen. There are several folks I know in other departments and offices that I have heard about the impact. Seems like accounting teams or even some accounting managers/supervisors just dont know what to do or just are aloof to whats going on.

There hasn’t been any prep. I’m sure there’s a reason, but I don’t know what it is. It’s all very hard.
