Boeing has hired 1700 in the Puget Sound area in Dec and Jan. I think is part of the voluntary layoff that could hopefully be coming soon. This time they will have the new people trained in key jobs before they the older people go.

The tax breaks that Boeing received from Washington State was tied to employment numbers. Boeing asked the state to remove the tax breaks due to the WTO, but you can't have thousands of people standing around cleaning and painting the same stuff over and over again. Bring on the VLO!
