From what I'm hearing, it was really bad. Things are really not looking good for Stage... People, start looking for new jobs right now! It's so much easier to find a job when you already have one than when you are out of a job and desperately need something right then and there. Just a piece of friendly advice...

WARN notices were sent out to associates effective today. 60 days end on 7/8. Bankruptcy filing appears imminent.
Merit increases postponed to mid-year. Just like the suppliers, they’ll probably avoid paying them then as well. Meanwhile, people got massive raises after promotions last year while a prior round of layoffs were happening. Most inept Management team ever.
Everything that is happening at Stage sounds so much like what happened at Kmart/Sears when I worked there. Forget customer service, just get credit card sign ups, work on less hours, cut benefits etc. Get out now
I always love the "from what I heard" comments. I know upper management would never confirm or deny, but someone, somewhere has real info. Emails, memos and such get leaked all the time. It is frustrating to be in the store and not know fully what is going on. Yet, retail has taken a hit of the years, I can only hope these cuts and closures can save us from an untimely demise.
I heard over 100 people were let go in this round of layoffs. Morale has to be at an all-time low if it wasn’t already. The silence from Management has to be deafening.
