Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Hyvee Supervisors

Supervisors are not able to help the stores. I haven’t seen mine in months. The only time I see supervisors is if the store is going to be walked by a VP or higher. Randy and top management needs to walk store conditions.

I’m not talking about announcing you are visiting stores. Do surprises visit to see the terrible conditions store are in on weekends. Most store lack management and store help on weekends. No store director or manager of. Don’t forget the lack of dept managers on weekends. Please change this. Get supervisor working store

Way to many chiefs and not enough store level workers/customer service to be that helpful smile...the roots of this company . Stress will drive up medical issues and ruin morale. People that shop Hy-vee know walmart is there but can't stand their practices..there's way more than the lowest price...our service has always be our shine...don't take that away.

How can store directors take a huge cut but supervisors don’t. They are the most over paid job in the company. I totally believe they don’t have a clue what’s going on with this company.

Supervisors are busy doing remodels. They will be next on the chopping block. They will use mro students to cover remodels. Supervisors didn't even know what was going on over the weekend.

Nah, saying thin out the corporate office make them work at store level... promote the solid department managers to supervisors, and let them lead this company.

So what you want to do is add new supervisors and cooperate staff members. More payroll to pay for employees sitting on the sideline. We are cutting dept manager and you want to add help to non store employees. Give me a break. At this point if we are cutting we need to cut anyone that isn’t working at store level. Supervisor was a good 20 years ago but in today’s age it’s outdated.

The only way to fix this is to get more supervisors. They need less stores. Some supervisors have 30+ stores and are required to do every new store setup and every remodel. This means that they are only allowed to get into stores once every six months. Give them less stores, have a separate remodel/set up crew- THATS NOT what supervisors are for, and give them a chance to get into stores and make a difference. Unfortunately over half of all department managers don’t know what they are doing, or are making mistakes that the other half know not to make, or are screwing up their inventory and no one even knows it. Let the supervisors get into stores, help with inventory, help with rpm, help with training, help with schedules, help with game plans, and share what is working... actually help the stores. I understand where you’re coming from but surprise visits and busting chops is not the answer... that’s what they do now, lots of one sided communication. They need to get in there and help stores. Plus, with these changes, they need combo grocery/dairy/ frozen supervisors to help with everything in those spots as times are a changing....

Supervisors need to be in the stores doing something. I guarantee that not one of them is taking a 25% pay cut.
