You guys complaining on here are a joke. Let me tell you something, I worked for another company that went through what seemed like constant shakeups, budget cuts, until I left a few years ago to take a different job. It’s SO easy to see that some of the Hy-Vee employees posting on here have never worked anywhere else. Even with everything going on now in retail, you are still complaining because a few changes are being made.
To be honest, all you retired people should have been making changes years ago like everyone else. But you didn’t. You just took your paychecks and left.
It’s tougher than ever to make a buck in retail, so everyone has to make, or is making, changes to be profitable.
Haters gotta hate. But there’d be a lot fewer Little League uniforms and free holiday dinners without Hy-Vee. So quit bashing the company that provides you with money to feed your very own family . . . or at one point gave you the paycheck to feed your family. Give me a break. I can’t wait until someone tracks down all your IP addresses. I wonder what you’ll say then?

Lets be real. You are a corporate stooge. The clock is ticking for Hyvee and midnight is close.
You say a few changes. The problem is these are not a few changes and they are all happening at once. People are getting fired. Lives are in jeopardy. No one is safe. It is a scary climate and no one knows who is next on the block. Almost equatable to Henry VIII. You don’t know whose head Randy is gonna chop off next. Employees are physically and mentally exhausted because not a soul knows what is going on.
Yah lets do be real......Ive worked for other employers, I went through 2 acquisitions, Rif'd twice, so I know the gig. But both of those companies were respectful in their cuts. After 10+ yrs of employment they didn't have the floral manager, now turned HR give me a...oh I think your benefits end today, maybe, ahh, I'll check...I don't know who to call for COBRA, or for life insurance..And this goes on and on all day with multiple people. The standard is no severance, they have offered FT people PT jobs at 1/2 the pay with no benefits clearly to avoid paying unemployment. Or change the pay rate significantly to others. The other employers had corporate come in, gave us packets with all the info, outplacement info and a letter indicating the effective date of discharge, which is golden when your suddenly without pay, severance, medical, dental, life, short term and long term disability for your entire family. This lack of preparation or plan and having the store level take on this burden is what is making us angry, frustrated and without trust. This leaves those behind in chaos, destroying the culture of smiles in every aisle.
Hope the door hits ya where the good Lord spilt ya! ✌🏻
Yes I'm a 30 year employee and still working. Have been a fully salaried employee until 12 years ago when we took the 1st pay cut. Now, starting Monday I will lose at least 7800$ per year and when our bonus goes........ wont be in April but July is not gonna happen. That will raise my loss to about 12K per year. 1000$ per month. Really dont think they're heading in the right direction.
Couldn’t agree with you more. As a leader you need to make correct changes. Not these crazy off the wall ideas. Why don’t they just change the name of Hyvee to Randy’s fun house of terrible ideas.
Let's be real
Yeah, Keep talking your talk, etc.
A few changes... seriously... people are losing their livelihood because this company has failed in recent years to make the CORRECT changes to their business.
I have worked for more retailers than hyvee and i can tell you the reason i wanted to work for hyvee was because what we are seeing now didn't happen. They are being a follower not a leader.
I would be more than happy to explain my views to Randy himself. I'm just a full time nobody employee though and whatever i would say wouldn't be listened to anyway.
I have spoke up to no avail . I am not a hyvee lifer so evidently my opinion doesn't count.
That is the culture now, like it or not.
I think the bulk of the complaining is because most don’t believe this is going to be what saves the company. Shredding staffing down to WalMart service levels while keeping prices and gross goals way above the rest of the market is not a plan most see working. Meanwhile our employees are currently terrified because of all the rumors they hear going around. I feel like I spend half my day right now trying to calm the fear. All this seems like a knee jerk reaction that isn’t going to solve our problems. No one seems to really know what the long term plan is, and plans change month to month.
Look at comments all over social media regarding this. It’s clear our customers think our that our pricing is severely out of wack. Our pricing being seen as an issue is talked about at every meeting. We get told to work on it, but gross expectations stay the same. Meanwhile WalMart is absolutely attacking us on pricing while we keep the blinders on, thinking Low Price Lockdown is going to save the day.
All I’ve wanted for the last 2 years as we have navigated this is a clear plan, and for us to stick to it for more than a month. To keep a leadership structure in place for more than a few months.
It’s a free country. I can say whatever I want about the company I work for. Stop your crying if you don’t like this. I’m sorry if you think this makes Hy-Vee looks bad. Hyvee is the one that started to do pay cut across the board. Sorry if we are not all happy about this change. I will be looking for a new job ASAP. Former store director out! Oh I mean store manager.
