Well, the first round is done. I’ve heard rumors of the full tally of yesterday, somewhere in the upper 100s, maybe even greater than 200. SA got hammered, and geos/engineers in Midland/Houston did too. Land will be on the horizon, and then support staff to round out Apache’s consolidation. If I worked in any of the obviously inflated disciplines in the company, like IT, Accounting, HR, or Supply Chain, I’d probably be sweating as much as I was yesterday. For those of us survivors, raise an extra pint to your fallen comrades this weekend. Many were met with unfortunate news yesterday.
