Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

Is this true?

There will be GED layoffs. True. However, non-producers are also being targeted for replacement. Remote workers who lack consistent onsite presence from week to week are particularly being given a long, hard look in terms of productivity.

Can anybody confirm this info about remote workers? How much danger are we really in?

I really love the flexibility and genuinely am fully engaged in my work - being US and getting up very early to catch EU based meetings, the 2-3 afternoonsvper week at The Banks to make a good showing and remind my leaders of what I'm working on. It's a very workable rythym abd you have to take control of your perception.

Regardless of where I work I can feel the shift and the reductions coming. Thankfully I'm interviewing....

I disagree. If you are were doing your job while at the office, you wouldn't have the time to take notice what others are doing.

I work in the office, but I see just as many people in the office surfing the web, playing on their cell phones, listening to music, blah blah.

The last 2 tech companies I worked for had very productive WFH employees..it’s a leadership/cultural style. Results matter most, not whacking off at the office wasting time.

When WFH = get things done around the house, online surfing, grocery shopping and the like. While deadlines fail to get met. Can you blame me if I want to replace you?
