IBM consolidates storage products under a single brand

If Storage is consolidated it's product lines, it stands to reason that they'll surely be consolidating their other resources too. . .

Well, they seem to be hiring storage reps in a few cities throughout the US.

IBM will sell the storage business like everything else.... it is just a question of time.

Unfortunately, IBM is incapable to fix anything or to compete with any other companies these days.

If you are in Storage, please update your resume and find a better place to go work at.

I'm afraid IBM storage is now an "also ran". They may have some great technology (acquired from Texas Memory) but they can't gain any mindshare and they can't execute due to too much middle management and lack of individual empowerment. There has long been a problem competing against Dell EMC, but there are now many other vendors that are selling/marketing better than IBM. IBM storage sales peak with new mainframes, when customers refresh and IBM bundles storage into the deal. The rest of the time, it's just blah. Their storage software is incredibly complex and expensive.
The group needs to be streamlined - get rid of excess management (common IBM problem across the board) and empower the sales force to even stand a chance of making an difference moving forward
