"Additionally, the WARN Act requires employers to give notice of any mass layoff, that does not result from a plant closing but will result in an employment loss of 500 or more employees during any 30-day period. The Act also covers employment loss for 50-499 employees if they make up at least 33 percent of the employer's active workforce.
This requirement does not consider the layoff of employees who have worked for the employer less than six months in the past 12 months, or employees who work, on average, less than 20 hours a week."
So, no warn required at 175 if they were not contractors. That 500 number is within a 12 month period.
The bigger problem I have is that multiple times the new CEO has said, we have no plans for layoffs and we want to be transparent. And my favorite, "our employees confidence is shaken, it's my job to get it back"
Well, nothing instills confidence like lying to our faces, and the press, Nd everyone else.
If you can, it's time to GET OUT. 14 days and the trust is lost. Its NOT going to get any better.
Boeing is not required to warn contractors nor do they have to report those firings to the state. The contractors were not layed off , they were fired with only 2 hours notice. Today's firings were 100% contractors. A lot of skill and knowledge walked out the doors today.

No direct mention but there was lots of talk about cutting back on future work to focus on what we currently have going on.
