Thread regarding DeVry Inc. layoffs

So, what is the bottom line here?

The bottom line is that the DeVry "classes" are a rigged system that takes people with almost zero academic skills and limited mental abilities, puts them through a diluted learning experience.

This is designed to give them fake letter grades for any type of participation, causes them to take on unsustainable and undischargeable levels of debt, and then awards them a meaningless certificate.

The system is rigged to pass through everyone who enters and to take advantage of people's (a) ignorance about what a real school does for its students and (b) people's fear of failure in the workplace.

The system functions perfectly to enrich the DV managers while hoodwinking and cheating the participants.

DeVry is predatory capitalism in its most venal form.

To this day....I hate when an Admission Advisor is called an Advisor.....there is no advising of any kinds. Just changed the name to the Sales Team, I would respect it more. Then the consist explanation to students, that DEM is nothing but sales representatives, would make sense!!!

You can thank admissions for that. I worked in admissions and we were nothing but high paid sales people. Our job was to meet sales goals and convince people to enroll despite their lackluster grades. If you didn’t enroll them, you would be terminated. I worked 15 years and saw so many students sign up and so many employees clipped.
