I was laid off a few months ago when my store closed. I have not been in a Sears since then until I visited Saugus, MA Sears, which I used to frequent. I was shocked at how bad the stock levels were. Clothing racks were spread out to fill space, entire shoe aisles completely empty, hardlines looking like a Venezuelan supermarket, Land’s End closing... It’s a shame since this was a busy, well stocked store. Traffic was good and a lot of people seemed to be shopping but the stock level was an atrocity. Even during the bankruptcy, filings weren’t this bad. It’s over.

The damage to the Woodfield doors was done in SEPTEMBER. Pretty sure the police and insurance folks have everything they need. Eddies' just too cheap to pay for a door.
Why the down votes? People writing their observations about a company that they care about even if the higher ups don't and haven't for a long time.
I shopped @ Saugus MA recently too and I agree with the OP. It is sad and depressing there now even though they are the only location for miles around. You can tell that the clothing has been there forever and the shoes looked like there was a reset going on. Since this location remained open after Burlington, Peabody, Cambridge, and Natick closed, I thought it would be in better shape. Even the jewelry looked sad although the 2 girls working there were downright rude to customers obviously banking on Transform's desperation for employees.
I worked at the jewelry counter at one of the now closed locations so I know just how off they were.
Someone who works at Woodfield said they are closing the second floor. the stock there is very low and areas have been condensed. Not sure it will last long.

Stock issues aside they can’t replace the door at Woodfield until all the police and insurance investigation is completed and settled.
I personally love all the descriptive posts on this site. The grammar police are from Illinois. Don’t let them intimidate all you honest posters who bring opinions to this board.
this is a dead horse. Same convo again and again. get over it.
Woodfield, the "crown jewel" of the chain is in desperate condition too. No mattresses, no small electrics, footwear consolidated into half the space. The entrance that was destroyed back in September is still covered over in plywood. The founders are no doubt spinning in their graves.
It’s been over. For years. It always surprises me when people only realize this after they get laid off.
Why are people downvoting this post when they know it’s the truth? Do people really think a turnaround is coming?
Best description I can offer: Quad clothing racks placed in a diamond pattern with 8 feet in between them to take up floor space.
