Fry's business model is over 30 years old and isn't working anymore. They ran their business like a grocery store; high volume, low margins, MFRs specials on endcaps.
Of course they offered a slew of snacks. Best Buy and the rest eventually found their grove and relentlessly beat them at their own game. No more Sunday and Wednesday ads in the paper, and no more sponsored advertisement in local free press.
Consignment model? This was the model that their old competition used and they put them all out of business 30 years ago. Is the old the new? Let time and history prove it.
