Between Thanksgiving and Christmas Quest Diagnostics later off fifteen IT employees. Here it is only January and they are laying off more people in sales.

Quest is currently laying off sales employees in the North and East.
Not so sure about that. Testing for coronavirus may be up, but being done in which facility? In the mean time, the routine testing that brings in the revenue to keep the lights on has dropped off significantly since people for the time being aren't otherwise going to the doctor, etc. Some departments are way overstaffed for the reduced volume of tests. So something may change. Best case, they'll just send people home early or tell them not to come in certain days or change schedules to reduce hours. Worst case comes layoffs. But would hopefully be short term as things would likely get back to normal once things settle down. Hopefully they'd offer the job openings to the laid off employees first.
Surely they won't/can't layoff anyone during this crisis!
