Does anyone know what the salary multiple was for those who accepted the early retirement offer?
Was it 2 weeks per year of service? 1 month per year? 80% of a month per year?

We were told this was a competitive severance package, because they did research that proved it was a competitive package. With a straight face, too.
It might give idea what the severance might look like for that are laid off. So it might possibly help in leaving to take a gamble or take another offer.
Just for clarity in the replies, early retirement offers for those old enough with sufficient tenure and severance for those unwilling to relocate are different.

Exactly. Trying to get a marker for what the severance payment for those that don’t want to relocate might be.
Maybe they are trying to figure out what they might be offered for severance or early retirement?
