2020 Mood

Soooooo, how is the mood around campus this week? Let me tell you. I spent some time walking around campus yesterday as the weather was decent and no one cares what I do anyway, why not... I walked through Bldg 5 and what once was a very happy group of people is now like walking into a wake. Those employees that were brave enough to peek out from behind their computers barely gave a nod and most did not acknowledge me at all. This group used to be the most upbeat and happy group on campus. They were considered top tier and others aspired to be like them. What happened? That one is easy. New leadership (used lightly) and Sr leadership that for some reason continues to turn a blind eye. Great example of why there should be minimum requirements for VP's. Thats right, there are NO minimum requirements for education or more importantly experience for a VP at CHK. Does is make sense to put requirements on all positions up to Director and then ignore the VP's. FYI - the new VP does not meet the requirements to be a Director and this has been painfully obvious just like it was in IT. By the way, are you all excited to get your red and green cards so that you can speak up without fear or retaliation. Apparently these cards hold magic powers so be prepared to speak up going forward (SMDH). Even the shoe shiner has not been walking on cloud 9 as usual. Probably because he has been legitimately reduced to an overpaid admin and does all of the c-ap work for his boss.

I also ventured into some other buildings. After leaving 5 I was hoping to find a glimmer of positivity. I found it in Bldg 10. It seemed to be fine. Perhaps it is because they have been hit the least and feel protected or maybe its because they hear all of the bad things that are going on and feel their problems are mild compared to those doing the real work. Who knows...

Bldg 15 brought me back to reality as it is similar to Bldg 5 right now. Everyone on pins and needles. People planning their exit strategy for March, all in the hopes that they might get an undeserved bonus, and updating resume's. Granted, individually some of them do deserve bonuses but as a company how can you possibly justify giving bonuses this year? You have absolutely cost shareholders millions of dollars. Surely the BOD will not approve bonuses because you KNOW that the EVP's and VP's are going to push for it even though they know it is wrong for the company. I digress... Many of them were daydreaming of being on vacation with KH in Cabo. I am sure he is missed. Others were wishing that BM and JA had not left for better things as they were good to work for but could no longer take the stress of dealing with consistent bad decisions from over their head. No one seemed to miss BP or JP in any building, shocker...

Anyway, I won't bore you with any more of my day. Besides, I think I will take another stroll around campus. I am pretty much done working for the day. Not bad, almost put in an hour and a half today. Well, minus the time it took to do this, I also went to breakfast, took a 20 minute dump and was 15 minutes late coming in. Oh well, no one around here cares anyway.

Really feel for you all. I left this stink hole as Aubrey was removed in 2014. Did not like the look of this new Chairman Archie Dunham who stood there bragging he was an advisor for President Bush providing valuable information on how to handle the Gulf War. I knew we actually had Archie Bunker, not Dunham. Chase advisor talked me in to selling most of this stock immediately, I did. I kept a marginal amount and lost my a– as well, sold at $3. I agree with you all, whomever is running this Mafia now should be in an orange jump suit.

Stealing from shareholders? You are a complete tool! Keep writing your own narrative and living in your personal little fairytale. Some of us have attempted to do more to provide value than the outside world (shareholders included) will ever know. The real question is when will shareholders finally see the light and say this is enough. Sell it so we can salvage any value that might be left. He-l even if oil jumped to $120/barrel CHK won’t survive. First of all there is that little matter of $10B in debt. Second, almost everyone that was worth a damn and could help the company out of this has left, or worse were let go by incompetent and inexperienced leadership. Either you don’t work here or you do and you are clueless. Perhaps you should expand the jelly business...

Typical response from someone showing their ignorance. Probably the shoe shiner back on here. We all know he frequently gets on here to defend his VP and himself. I suppose some of it’s unbelievable but until you have lived it you would not know. You can only gain value if they allow you to do so. My department has checked out. I do every task I am responsible to do every day. What else would you have me do? Your job? You obviously have time to get on here and post during work hours.

2020 Mood,
You are paid to try to add value. Instead, you admit to stealing from stakeholders and not adding value by bragging that you get paid for nine and deliver one. OK Boomer.

Accurate down to the last period. I have been here going on 11 years and this is spot on. They may have been gone for a year but they are still missed. As a matter of fact two of them are still in pictures throughout offices in 15. As for 5 it goes without saying. Those people are miserable.

Boring and inaccurate. Some of the things and people referenced are at least a year out of date ! So you probably haven’t worked here for a while or clearly haven’t been paying attention to what’s going on around you!

Yet you read it and commented. You must be as fulfilled at work as I am...

That really was boring and about as believable as Never Ending Story. Thank you for ending.

Good point genius. The reality is that I have finished 100% of my obligations for the day, have no projects assigned to me and I am oblivious to by boss. I have asked for additional responsibilities to no avail and just received an exceeds on my annual review. I was told to just keep grinding and not stick my neck out too far or it might get cut off. No thanks, I will stay status quo and collect my check. People wonder how this company got like this. There are literally half a dozen just like me in my department alone.

Geez. Even if the company is on the rocks, have some self respect and work hard for yourself.
