Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

Severance if you reject a Houston spot?

Anyone have any idea what kind of severance will be given to people who do get an offer in Houston, but don’t want to be trapped in the same building as our CEO in a giant, ugly parking lot of a city?

Don't blame you, if I were offered a job in San Antonio I would feel the same way. Always positives just have to see them.

It could be possible that if you get an offer and then turn it down, what you end up getting is less generous than what the people outright laid off get. Also, every city has downsides, and Houston has a ton to offer. There is objectively almost nothing beautiful about Midland so I'm assuming you're an SA poster. Traffic isn't really much worse here in Houston (SA doesn't have enough roadway for its population), though you may have to travel a little farther to get to the office. Food is awesome, you can fly almost anywhere direct, service industry is incredible, you'll make money on your house, sports teams galore...I could go on. Gotta focus on the positives. Although not wearing jeans every day will probably s— for a lot of you.

Probably the same type of package as if you were to not be offered a position in Houston.
