I don’t think upvotes are falsehoods. I do believe this is happening. And I saw the previous news about layoffs.

Just inquiring specifically about those two offices bc this is the only place I can find any info. Looks like specific office closures have not hit media yet.

As a former, I worry about the good people I left behind.

Do you think all these upvotes are indicative of falsehoods? We are insiders sharing our opinions about the company. We got notice of this stuff via meeting AND email notification. The company already announced 10-15% staff reductions...is any of this so hard to believe?

Was this an email announcement? A big meeting? So far I cannot find any other news about these closings!

Probably we all understand the need to close SA, the money pit. But why to majorly disturb the most profitable operations (the overseas ones).

All employees from San Antonio will either be laid off or offered to relocate to Houston (Midland for a select few). Most of the Midland folks will either be laid off or offered to relocate to Houston, although some will get to stay. And Americans abroad in our international offices will be coming stateside (pure speculation on my part, but seems likely). Can’t speak to UK or Egyptian nationals’ fate. The company is deciding to blame its lack of performance on the regional model as opposed to mismanagement, even though we all know why we are here. So we are centralizing in the hopes it’ll fix our icky bad problems. And increase our premieriousness. Premieriality?

What offices are being moved to Houston? From the other thread it seems like San Antonio for sure. Midland?

Are employees being moved or fired?

Sadly I don't think the people making the decisions are "very smart people". The track record of mismanagement and poor decisions lend support to my hypothesis. I genuinely believe they are clueless based on the fact that there is never any forethought into how the employees will receive the message.
How many times have we heard that we are positioning ourselves for future growth that is just around the corner. We have been walking in circles. Our stock has declined year over year every year for the past five, yet we keep doing the same thing with no real strategy. Simply saying you are premier does not make you premier.

I don't think they are so smart. Look at the companies performance compared to its peers over the last decade. There is no sign of the downward trend changing anytime soon. The sad thing is that it has been the north sea which year on year has continued to deliver. The people made that happen, and they have just shown those people the door. Good luck Houston running the assets, I hope the offshore workforce stay safe.

It was a ridiculous way to make an announcement. I don't understand why the very smart people making these decisions seem to be completely clueless about how the employees will react to such incomplete and possibly misleading information.

Why in the world would anyone think that saying we're moving everything to Houston without explaining in more detail how that will happen is rubbish. Announcements done that poorly are an embarrassment to the Company.

None of the rank and file care what the Power Point org chart looks like. That want to know if they still have jobs.
