UP online been asking people to report their disability status ? Why ? Anybody know if this is a another way to disqualify people who UP then says they can't do their jobs ?.

How about the weekend warriors that claim they have PTSD. Wouldn’t you want to know the person you’re working with can’t handle stress?
To OP so that you can collect your railroad occupational disability after 240 months.
yeah tell UP about any disabilities you may have and then go into Walmart and shout your social security number at the top of your lungs. Both equally wise moves
I was going to say that just working for the UP was a disability. The UP will find anyway they can to terminate employees. Tell them nothing, and just let them keep on guessing. Terminations are easier to explain to the labor board, than furloughs.
Be sure to inform them that you have a learning disability if you think it’s a good idea to let them know and medical info
100% correct. But also remember if you hold a federal certification to operate (cdl), and you have sleep apnea you are required by law to divulge this information to not only the company but also dmv. And yes it is a huge pain in the a$$. This is from first hand experience.
Yes you hit the nail on the head of course it’s to get rid of people. Ex. Sleep apnea , or Diabetes people that I know are constantly being harassed by health and medical never knowing if they will have a job from one day to the next. One guy at my terminal wasn’t allowed to take lunch and his blood sugar spiked had to go home and has been off of work for weeks now since H&M won’t allow him to come back. Unfortunately if you report you better be ready to live on the edge because at any time you could be pulled from service for good.
You have to be the BIGGEST id–t on earth to tell em any personal medical info !
