I got 12 weeks Severance today, (I had 5 years of “service” ha!) I also signed a non-compete to get that 12 weeks otherwise would have been 5. Not like anybody is hiring anyway.

Happy to be out...anybody have good advice for health insurance??

Years of service is calculated from date of last hire.

HES policy states that you will recieve 2 weeks pay in lieu of 2 weeks notice plus one week of pay per year worked up to 13 weeks. Plus the payout for any remaining vacation and personal days. The Rockies camps also recieved an additional 60 days (480hrs) of pay and benefits due to triggering the WARN act. But.....people in the Rockies that were included on the list but didnt get laid off immediately when it was going around have not been getting the additional 60 days even though they were included in the original numbers. Im sure that would be easy to resolve if they can get their hands on the original paperwork. Severance is not guaranteed. The more layoffs that happen, the less and less the package will get. Halliburton will cut costs til the end every chance they get.

Yes, Everyone has a budget, if they get low on funds, severance packages will decrease. Nothing is guaranteed.

Oh wow, so you're saying that a severance package (no matter how small) is not a given? I'd heard that everyone being let go was given severance which was a week's worth of pay for each year of service.

Depends.
best you can expect is 2 weeks + vacation days left + insurance till end of the month.

After that, they may offer severance package, but that is usually capped to be around 3 months pay.
