Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

One of the many downfalls

The good management that has been there and stood behind people because they care about the fate of the company and workers have slowly been k–led off or broken to the point they don't care either. What happened to this great company? Everyone's greediness and hate has brought this company down as well as the workers who want to make $25 an hour plus to do nothing and not give a damn. I sometimes wonder if the dream is really over or if was too good to be true? It's sad to see that no one cares or takes the initiative to get things fixed or moving because they are trying to do less than the other guy but point fingers when it comes to blaming. We are all in this together if coworkers are lazy and don't care they don't deserve to work there or make the good money plus benifits we make. For a lot of us this is as good as it will get and we are letting it slip through our hands. Im sure we all are decently off thanks to this job and most dont realize what we have. Maybe we deserve to all lose our jobs and make $12 an hour for unskilled labor like the rest of America and be treated like sh–. Who knows what till come of this but none of you can say you aren't ashamed that we have gotten to this point. Rant over. Member of Dean's for 35 years by the way and still work as hard as I did the very first day. Salute to those who still bust their tales and aren't entitled or think they are. The American dream is dying off and some of you never deserved it.

Ralph was who Tanner needed to throw under the bus after he took his ridiculous parting gifts! An insulating layer between him and the law.

You notice that Tanner kept all his money and Ralphie baby has to probably give his "fall guy bonus" back. Neither of those crooks had any intention of providing dairy products, they just saw a get rich quick scheme.I guess Ralph thought he knew how to play the bankruptcy game after he trashed his last furniture company job- he was not as clever as he thought. He shoulda played his successor cards a bit differently like the Yale boys did.

Ehhh...had some good managers and supervisors over the years. All gone. Half by retirement (retirement not always their decision- some given choice of retire or be fired). Other half either run off for speaking up about some of the Company's dumb decisions or else jumped ship when they just couldn't take it any more. Management/supervision over last few years all terrible. Have the mentality that everyone is replaceable, show lots of favoritism, and don't really give a sh– about learning the jobs of the employees that work for them. I blame it all on executives and MBAs. I think Engels and Tanner knew exactly what they were doing- lying through their teeth to keep the money flowing in their own pockets. Ralphie was just an id–t who thought of milk as not being any different then the furniture business (and he didn't do well in the furniture business, so blame the board for hiring him).
Most frustrating thing now is the out right lying by current local management- making promises that not even the CEO would have the ability to keep- all is well, plant will be open for years to come, everyone will keep same pay, benefits, seniority, etc. Of course, we've been lied to so many times over the last few years that even if they were being honest, no one would believe their honesty either.
