Thread regarding Textron Inc. layoffs

Layoffs

Any layoffs within Textron general are indicative of a potential down cycle trend. Post under Textron for Textron Aviations news. I am hearing a salary layoff 12/5-12/6/2019 and a Union floor worker layoff in March 2020. Sales are low and did not recover in the 4th. Many aircraft slid to the right into 2020.

Textron Aviation is asking for government IRB money to close down facilities, cosolidate, and get rid of jobs, why would our state and local government do that? Government money should only be authorized to create more jobs, not less. Sound like the same rotten deals made with the old Beechcraft and Bombardier Learjet which resulted in less jobs and bankruptcy.

Lol read the WARN notice...they arnt sidestepping anything, the warn notice just means that a 60 day notice is needed if X number of people are let go if said notice is not given then the people let go are paid out at their current rate for the length of the notice.

How many notices have been issued? When will they be finished with notices?

Where is this 1500 number coming from? The last big lay-off was due to a huge economic down turn. I don’t understand why they would do this now.

To sidestep the 60 day WARN notice requirement imposed by federal labor law, the layoffs will be in two phases. The first phase going on now for salaried employees, and the second phase of primarily direct hourly employees in March 2020 for a total of 1500 or 15% of the total workforce.
