1500 is about 15% of current workforce. Here's the start: https://www.avweb.com/aviation-news/textron-laying-off-hundreds/

You are correct. They will sidestep the WARN act by doing multiple phases of 499 or less. The current workforce is very young and naive. Many of the young people on the floor have never been laid off and are not believing it. Many old timers are quietly talking amongst theirselves and very worried. A small percentage believes what management is telling although it’s a complete lie. Textron even lies to the local news. Union jobs will be cut. They are currently standing around with purposely driven shortages to make it appear as a parts issue. The younger people just don’t understand how this all works. Very typical of the past and reminiscent of 2008/2009 if not worse.

To sidestep the 60 day WARN notice requirement imposed by federal labor law, the layoffs will be in two phases. The first phase going on now for salaried employees, and the second phase of primarily direct hourly employees in March 2020 for a total of 1500 or 15% of the total workforce.
