Vacation Carryover

Did anyone else hear or read on the FAQ's: severed employees who have carryover vacation will not be paid for it? That sounds weird? Right? If you were vested to get the benefit, why could a severed employee not get the benefit? Anyone gotten messages to use up vacation?

Company policy has always been if employment is terminated in any way, carryover vacation is no paid. If you have it, use it!!! I have had friends lose their vacation because they thought it had been earned the previous year. But if you will look at the policy, you will see that you need to use it.

You can use your vacations after you got let go. You'll get a 60 days notice that you're still employed and expected to come to work. Warn act

was told by a manager to make sure I use any unused vacation this year. So I assume that means any carry over will not be paid out.

I think vacation carryover by itself implies it was accrued and should be able appy as payment. That is bad so you should use it now.

You don’t get paid for carryover vacation, but you should get paid for accrued and unused vacation. How HR defines accrued is unclear as different people say different things, but if someone still has 2019 vacation left it doesn’t make any sense why they would not get paid for it. Unless the company is just trying to cheap out and screw everyone.

Early retirement packages did not include unused vacation so I would not expect severance packages to include it
