Denver - Major Derailment

Major derailment at Platteville!! Z train derails 15 cars and hits tractor trailer. Scatters cars all over highway 85. All lanes closed. Pass the word, contact FRA, government officials. The Z Train does NOT get a legal Class 1 initial terminal inspection! Also all inbound Z trains and I trains coming into Denver WD640 are NOT getting an inbound inspection! Carmen are specifically told not to look at any Z or I train or they will be pulled from service. Per Terry J, Brian G and Carl S. These are FACTS.

No signal arms on that stretch of sub! Multiple fatalities on that stretch over the years due to vehicles trying to out run trains, especially from Brighton Co, to Eaton co,

What shortcuts are being taken?

Notice the UP defenders on here are debating the cause of the derailment not the fact that shortcuts are being taken across the UP system. I wish some sort of independent safety org (not the fra) would come in and see all the shortcuts UP takes. If only the public knew what types of chemicals are rolling through their towns. They’d be air testing those trains the right way twice.

Wow, I believe the UP Public Safety Manager that has been active along the Greeley and with Halliburton had his job recently eliminated per the risk management AVP. At least the risk management reps were saved to go and recollect what they can and continue to cut and ignore the public safety side.

Another Locker room lawyer that cannot state the facts. Completely oblivious to the fact that the train hit a loaded Halliburton truck at a crossing

There is no inbound requirement in the regulations. Be professional and try to learn about your profession.

The report that I read says it has everything to do with PSR.... Z train possibly had defective brakes and or a BO car? Signal arms possibly not maintained or working properly? Possible Locomotive issues? All due to PSR ....

Train derailed because it hit a tractor trailer! We are not here for your made up facts. We're here to try to find out what is really going on. So stop with the b—s—

Sounds like you should call the FRA, also sounds like the yard I work in. I have been told personally to stop looking for UF defects because it does not fit into the dwell goal. Good hi ball roll by air test. Hurry up and get it done, it rolled in it will roll out, it will make the trip, bla bla bla bla.
