Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Pay Rodney More!!!

Sure, he deserves it. Where else in America could an accountant systematically gut the culture of hard work and dedication who men of CHARACTER and INTEGRITY such as Lyle Everingham and David Dillon created. Folks he will look you in the eye and shake your hand while holding the knife he intends to cut you with. He is untrustworthy and diabolical. To award him with the bonus he received this year was the Boards way to urinate on the employees. Good luck recruiting talent in the future..your rep is gone.

So ur saying that a mgmt position at McDs or Dollar General is a step above working for KR? Retail s—s and yes KR is most likely the worst possible company in existence now. What amazes me is all the under the table gifts from vendors that continue to go on so they can gain more shelf space or ??? Severe lack of ethics, empathy, and morals exists! From low store level to top rung! Crooks

I was not an executive reporting to them, but I did interact with them from time to time regarding merchandising strategies, processes, etc. The 1st time I was in a meeting with Donnelly, he was wearing a west coast untucked casual shirt. His intensity level mirrored his attire. I told someone later that I thought he had detachment syndrome. He never made eye contact, never stated a position or shared any thoughts on future direction.

I too found Rodney seeking acceptance from others. It's obvious he to be part of the highly intellectual British accent skinny jeans big tortoise shell eyeglasses crowd over at 8451. That group along with the West Coast crowd.

That Ralphs/Fred Meyer purchase in 1999 is partly to blame where the company is today.
The leadership positions currently held that were funneled out of these Divisions is now taking a toll.

I was an executive that reported to the senior level executives (Rodney, Mike Donnelly and Chris Hjelm). I worked for the company for 40 years before retiring a couple years ago. These guys are jokes and they DON’T care about people and layoffs. Rodney reminds me of that kid in high school that wanted to be part of the cool crowd but could never break into it the “in” crowd. Can’t tell you how many meetings I was in and he fell asleep. Mike Donnelly had the attention span of a 2nd grader. Don Becker is turning over in his grave seeing how these guys treat people. Sukanya Madlinger was the best top executive that I have worked for and she was run out of GO... She’s the only one that knew what really goes on at store level and the everyday decision makers in merchandising. Sell your stock and get a new job. Things are only going to get worse. Big cuts are coming to GO in October of 2020. It was part of the plan that I saw before I retired. Sell your stock and get a new job...

Rodney needs to reach out to some of the folks from the VRO in 2017 a lot of experience left and the and the downfall started then. 8451and Boston consulting are running the company now and it's not working. CPG companies taking funds elsewhere because the category managers are too busy or don't understand how to drive sales. Also, the ads and items in the ad are the same every week. Not fresh with Frito Lay Little Debbie etc on the front every week.
