RIF'd employees eligibility for re-hire

Not sure anyone would want to be re-hired, but I've heard that RIF'd employees are not eligible for re-hire due to some lawsuit or legal action.

Does anyone have any information about that?

You can always apply for a different position unless you signed something saying you won't apply or you're not eligible for rehire. The 1 year is - if they eliminated your position, they cannot repost or reopen that position for 1 year.

I know one that was rehired within a few weeks, and I know of another who was requested to interview like 3 weeks after. This was Jan 19

Don't do it Buddy. That would be like getting back with an ex that had dumped you for someone else. It will never be like it was before. Best to focus on starting over with someone new.

Laid off in 2018 and called in 2019 to see if I was interested in returning. Um, that's a huge NO. If you got off the Titanic and survived, you wouldn't want to swim back out to it.
