Eddie grabbed Hometown stores and put them back into the fold. Yet, he’s not allowing Hometown stores to price match anything .com. WHY? Price differences on same product can differ up to $400 on same item. Is he using Hometown as showrooms for his .com business? Hometown can’t get product, ranges are MIA and dates for appliances to arrive back to store are most often 2-4 weeks out. Hometown owners are pawns in a very sick and evil game Eddie is playing. This affects the Hometown owners and their future. More damning is the reputation of the Hometown owner in their communities that Eddie is ruining by not providing product to sell.

I go to the same school as Mr. Lampert's kid. The rumor is they asked one of the teachers what to do if your father is a "bad man", which blew up into a whole mess because that's apparently a flag for child abuse, but it turned out they were just reading this board. It's pretty insane.
There will be no new format stores because the new format has failed, there is no cash flow, and everyone involved with the new format laid off. There will only be enough company and continuity left resembling "old Sears" to take dot the Is and cross the Ts in the tax and bankruptcy code to comply with the NOL transfer regulations and other tax considerations.
@12d7ckrj-1zrd my point is that Transformco has no good relationship with its
L/G vendors. Even the new format stores will be with L/G products.
They are Scr*wed.
@12d7ckrj-tvb Eddie worked hard to put every part of Sears out of business. Not out of intention, but his own stupidity. He genuinely thought the company and cash flow would magically be fine.
New format stores don't include apparel so that's not in the company's plans. This is why so many were let go from Hoffman in August and again in November.
What I can tell buy viewing the remaining L/G products, online, is that EL has lost his main
vendors. There might be a couple Gas engine items in each category. I seen NO RIDING MOWERS listed. !!!
Snow throwers are the highest at 3, plus 2 clearance units (probably near down to demos and returned/repaired units on the floor. Customers (oops - members - have nothing to select from. Isn't this the potential model, moving forward?... Hardlines products, dump the softlines?
Eddie starved Sears and Kmart to death, he ran the vendors off, so why would he treat hometown any different? He will milk them for every dime he can...if you’re a hometown owner RUN! he will have you all screwed, tattooed and served up for dinner too
We could only price match online if they were buying a protection plan protocol was to pull up the online price when they asked if we matched it then if it said online only we would pith the protection and if they didn't want it you'd say well online only at that price. I use to slash prices on appliances all the time to get them to buy a protection plan actually even if it wasn't less online no one ever said a word, basically just gave a bunch of protection plans away or heavily discounted them for a whole year and no one ever said anything about it once
The hometown owner has invested in their communities and business, only to have Eddie strip it all away, as slow death if you will. Shameful.
No one is "allowed" to price match online. The company wants online to put the stores out of business. It's been that way for years.
