Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

I encourage every on to go to Reddit Walmart

Get A ideal of what walmart really is now and how they are treating there Associates. It has really getting bad with a house full of new so called Rogue managers some teenagers some barely able to speak English. The turnover rate is off the wall for Associates and managers as well.New faces every day. They have taken away many benefits or changed them on there behalf. We have no sick leave our self but yet we can use it for a family member. While we have to jump through hoops just to get excused for being off by dealing with a 3nd party business. They don't want to deal with anything but you being here and working. You are on your own when you get sick.Give them A doctors note they will laugh it off.Recently I believe because they shut down the Associates comment forum because of all the bad complainants they were getting seldom a good comment was posted. And now has a rose'y, one walmart.com site of all the good times at walmart, bull sh–his place has got bad to the bone.I left a link at the end of this message into the Reddit subreddit take a look

Yes I worked at Walmart almost 12 years and got sick around Christmas and missed to many days and got fired the day after Christmas and the store manager a woman laughed at me. I will be 64 this May. It sent a shock to my body and now I am depressed and my nerves are shot. I cried and cried. I even called in on those days. Someone somewhere please read this and all I made was $12.66. I have to sign up for my social security to live.

Yep ..it's an age thing. Everyone over 40 got cut in my store.
And promoted teenagers still living with their parents. I'm out. Not answering to someone that still calls their friends BFF's..

$22 an hour ain’t s**t in today’s world. It only sounds like a lot if you remember what it was like to make $5 an hour

The real problem is that these long term associates all they do is complain because they don’t like change! You have to change to win. If not you will end up like sears. It’s a business but a business that will benefit you. You long term associates...guess what you went from making 5 dollars to a max of 22 dollars for some. All you want is to be spoon feed. You have to own your growth too, it yes at times some lack management skills so step up and lead then... b e the difference e

@8Qfx– As to your last point...The reason you have to clock in and then talk to a manager is so you are not working off the clock. The reason this rule is in place is to prevent people from getting asked a question or having a work conversation with management while not on the clock and then at some future date suing because they were not paid for their time.
Unfortunatley, most of the ridiculous rules and regulations that are in place are the result of either management abusing the employees time or employees being whiners and complainers. As a wise man once told me "You have to cater to the lowest common denominator in business"
Which means that while you and others may be hard workers and have common sense you have to make rules for the lazy, scamming, whiners who take advantage of the system. As the government and lawyers make more and more rules and regulations (some good, some bad) the more of your benefits and freedoms will be taken away.
This is coming from a person who owed a business for over 25 years and employed over 100 people.
I gave good benefits and treated by employees well. But the paperwork, taxes and rules and regulations made it too expensive to stay in business.

walmart is even worse than the than the comments suggest,it.s a real sh– hole for anyone to work have been with them 18 years just retired,it just gets worse by the day.No one stays some stores have over 100% turnover.please tell me why they are leaving because they love the place. What you say is bull sh– more than 80% on reddit what they say is true. You must be brain washed beyond help, perhaps you are a manager or work at the home office where they get paid for holidays as well as being off.The place is a toilet of bad management and home office forever changing rules to get more work for less manpower and cutting hours to the bone.If you are thinking of working for walmart will enhance your life or you believe this bull sh– you are indeed traveling with a caravan of fools, weather in management of just a Associate you end up stressed out and quit as you join the 100% plus turnover rate running for a new job.By the way Amazon is hiring great benefits and pay.Do A servery ask the Associates as well as management if they Agree with how the company is being run.The point system s—s It takes to long to earn PPTO And with bad weather coming on and over 50% near maxed out they will most likely lose there jobs. They Have a Notice at the time clock If you are sick see a manager "After" Clocking in.At this point Ill stop on this final post

@2drv Leave them alone. It's been years since management and the Home Office has even listened to their associates over anything. Hell, I've seen great ideas brought up and dismissed by leadership and then 6 months later that idea implemented. Why? Because management stole that same idea and suddenly it's an awesome suggestion.

Associates have had their benefits whittled away with Walmart in the grand scheme to make the Walnuts richer and their associates poorer. They need a place to vent over their third world working conditions.

The Home Office or their SM sure won't listen.

Eighty per cent of what is on reddit is a lot of sniveling whining. While there is some serious discussion, so much of it is BS. PPTO is the process for sick leave and no points. Walmart hasn't accepted doctor's excuses for many, many years as the process has been a no fault point system.

I agree with the company site for comments, but even that was being over powered by a lot of whining and not constructive criticism.
