Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

Broadcom doesn’t need to lay-off

People are quitting on their own ! Just realised what a horrible acquisition this was for Symantec. No strategy , no vision , no focus on being a cyber security player. It’s all messed up! People are getting better jobs with higher pay .

Broadcom is going to regret laying off nearly 60% of Symantec - lost talent never to regain !!!!

Broadcom laysoff the people that would be innovators into new products, talented researchers/engineers. They keep those that have no where else to go, lack basic skills, etc , but have niche knowledge into the old crusty products Broadcom acquired. The sad reality even the most “talented” persons Broadcom keeps is only good at knowing all the hacks and special cases they put in at previous company. Once the product is EOL the engineer will be EOC (end of career). That is why Broadcom is great if you are nearing retirement. That is also why Broadcom doesn’t hire entry level. Because entry level will discover Broadcom is old crusty products, resulting is crusty old dead end career —- thus quitting after being trained. Broadcom is the place for careers in their last gasp or you simply cannot pass interview anywhere else.

The strategy is simple. It’s called driving cash flow and earnings ar all costs. Think of a PE firm. That is what Broadcom is. That’s the reason I left, and why others I know are actively looking...
